In the face of ongoing tension and instability brought about by the current situation, doctors continue to exhibit remarkable professionalism and dedication, saving lives every day. Resuscitation specialists in Dnipro, demonstrating promptness, managed to save the lives of two patients in critical condition. This was reported by the director of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Center for Emergency Medical Assistance and Disaster Medicine, Radiy Shevchenko, as conveyed by "Vidomo".
Two cases, two miracles. The first patient encountered a life-threatening complication of acute myocardial infarction—ventricular fibrillation. This condition, characterized by chaotic contractions of the heart muscle, results in the absence of effective blood flow and, consequently, rapid cardiac arrest. Time plays a crucial role in such cases. The doctors from the Soborna substation of the Dnipro Emergency Medical Service provided immediate assistance to the patient. Several sessions of defibrillation—a procedure aimed at restoring normal heart rhythm through electrical shocks—resulted in the resumption of sinus rhythm, bringing the patient back to life.
The second case was equally complex. The victim was diagnosed with electrical activity in the heart without a pulse. This condition, known as "pulseless electrical activity" (PEA), is extremely dangerous because, despite the presence of electrical activity in the heart, it cannot effectively pump blood. The situation required immediate intervention and swift, measured decisions. Once again, thanks to the coordinated efforts and high qualifications of the medical staff, they were able to restore normal heart rhythm.
Both patients were stabilized and transported to specialized medical facilities for further observation and treatment.
