Russian occupation forces continue to employ terrorist tactics in warfare, utilizing unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) to drop anti-personnel mines known as "petals" on civilian areas, particularly in the city of Nikopol. This information was reported by "Vidomo," citing "KhDnepr".

These mines, which resemble leaves from trees, are extremely dangerous weapons—their camouflage renders them nearly invisible in the terrain. Their small size and disguise complicate detection, significantly increasing the risk of accidental detonation among civilians.

"Petals," as they are commonly referred to, are anti-personnel mines that fall into the category of directional fragmentation mines. Inside the polyethylene casing is an explosive substance, often a plastic explosive such as RDX or its analogs.

The triggering mechanism is quite simple: when pressure is applied to the mine's casing, the polyethylene container deforms, leading to the activation of the detonator and subsequent detonation of the charge. The explosion, although relatively low in power, causes severe injuries, primarily affecting the legs.

Often, the result of an explosion is the amputation of the foot or severe shrapnel wounds. In addition to the immediate impact of the explosion, fragments from the mine casing can also inflict serious injuries. Treatment for such wounds is prolonged and frequently leads to lifelong disability.

It is crucial to understand that the danger is not limited to detonated mines. Even unexploded "petals" remain lethally hazardous. Any careless movement or even accidental contact can trigger their activation.

Civilians should not attempt to neutralize these explosive devices on their own. If discovered, under
