A new state holiday has been established in Ukraine – Army Aviation Day of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces.

The corresponding decree No. 17 was signed by President Volodymyr Zelensky on January 8, as stated on the OPU website.

The holiday will be celebrated on July 3.

“I decree to establish Army Aviation Day of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, to be celebrated annually on July 3,” states the presidential decree.

The document notes that the new holiday has been introduced to honor the courage and heroism of the soldiers of the Army Aviation of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, demonstrated in the struggle for the freedom, independence, and territorial integrity of Ukraine.

The decree comes into effect on the day of its publication. This year, on July 3, Ukraine will celebrate Army Aviation Day of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces for the first time.

It should be noted that at the end of December, Zelensky signed a decree to introduce a new state holiday – Day of Interethnic Harmony and Cultural Diversity.

In 2023, the president instructed to update the system of state holidays and commemorative dates.
