The deployment of peacekeeping forces from partner countries in Ukraine is one of the most effective tools for compelling Russia to pursue peace.
This opinion was expressed by President Volodymyr Zelensky during a meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group in the "Ramstein" format.

"Putin wants to completely destroy Ukraine, to break all of us and you as well. That is why our goal is to find as many tools as possible to compel Russia to peace. I believe that the deployment of partner contingents is one of the best tools," Zelensky stated.
He also urged allies to be more practical regarding the issue of troop deployment on Ukrainian territory.
"And we have heard signals from the United Kingdom in support of this. We must be bold, and we need to offer truly strong tools," Zelensky believes.
It is worth noting that in December, the EU's high representative for foreign affairs and security policy, Josep Borrell, stated that the bloc's countries are not yet planning to discuss the deployment of peacekeepers in Ukraine. At the same time, Zelensky mentioned that he had already raised this issue during meetings in Brussels.
According to Reuters, discussions within the EU included the potential deployment of up to 100,000 European military personnel on Ukrainian territory.
