The number of North Korean military personnel killed and wounded in the Kursk region of Russia has already exceeded 3,000.

These preliminary figures were announced by President Volodymyr Zelensky after a meeting of the military command.

The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, reported on the situation in the Kursk region during the meeting of the supreme commander. According to Zelensky, there is a risk that North Korea will send additional soldiers and military equipment to the Russian army. He promised "tangible responses" to this situation.

"Currently, according to preliminary data, the number of North Korean military killed and wounded in Kursk exceeds 3,000. It is crucial for the world to understand that the risk of destabilization around the Korean Peninsula and in neighboring regions and waters is increasing in proportion to the growing cooperation between Moscow and Pyongyang. The transfer of modern warfare experience and the spread of military technologies from Russia pose a global threat,” the president wrote.

It is worth noting that South Korean intelligence has also warned that the North is likely preparing to deploy additional troops and military equipment to Russia.

North Korean military began participating in assaults in the Kursk region on December 14. Earlier reports indicated that Vladimir Putin ordered the Kursk region to be brought under control before Donald Trump's inauguration.
