On Friday, December 6, the Ukrainian Defense Forces received the first batch of domestically produced "Peklo" drone missiles.
This was reported by President Volodymyr Zelensky via Telegram.
According to him, "Peklo" has already been confirmed for combat use. The government intends to increase the production and deployment of this type of weapon in the future.
Present at the missile-drone transfer ceremony were Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi, presidential advisor Oleksandr Kamyshin, and the head of the Ministry of Strategic Industries, Herman Smetanin.
The latter emphasized that this is a completely new type of weapon, "the first in its class – a drone missile."
"The drone missile was developed by a Ukrainian manufacturer from scratch in record time – within a year. The product has already seen successful combat applications," added Smetanin.
It is known that "Peklo" has a striking range of 700 km and a speed of 700 km/h. Smetanin clarified that the state is working on enhancing the product's protection against electronic warfare, improving operational characteristics, and accuracy of strikes. In particular, new types of warhead are being developed.
Recall that it was recently reported that the Ukrainian drone missile, which President Volodymyr Zelensky mentioned last summer, has gone into mass production.
The cost of the Ukrainian drone missile is less than one million dollars. More details on the "Palyanytsia" development can be found in the infographic by "Slovo i Dilo".
