Ukrainian citizens are advised to refrain from any travel to Syria until the situation stabilizes, and those currently in the country should leave its territory.
This was stated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
For Ukrainians who still decide to stay in Syria, it is recommended to avoid crowded places, refrain from participating in events and demonstrations, and strictly adhere to safety measures and the rules for foreigners in the country. Additionally, one should not leave their place of residence without urgent necessity and always carry identification documents.
It is also advisable to consider shortening the duration of one’s stay in the country.
In case of an emergency or threats to life and health, Ukrainian citizens can contact the embassy in Lebanon at the phone number (+961) 5921668, or via email at [email protected]. There is also a hotline available at +38-044-238-16-57.
Recall that at the end of November, combat actions resumed in Syria. Rebels have already taken control of two major cities, pushing Bashar Assad's forces out of Aleppo and Hama.
