The Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv has prohibited the use of the messaging app Telegram for official purposes.
The relevant decree was signed by the university's rector, as reported by the IMI press service.
The ban will take effect on November 11 of this year.
“The university's intention to discontinue the use of the platform is also mentioned in a message on the Telegram channel of Taras Shevchenko National University, where administrators ask users which other platform they would choose for further communication,” the message states.
It is also known that in the dormitories of KNU, Wi-Fi no longer supports access to the Telegram messaging app.
As a reminder, back in September, some Ukrainians were prohibited from using Telegram on official devices. The National Security and Defense Council reported that the decision regarding Telegram does not apply to the official channels of the state authorities. Meanwhile, the Parliament's Office will restrict the use of Telegram.
