Google states that the satellite images depicting Ukraine's defense infrastructure, featured on the updated maps, were taken over a year ago and sourced from publicly available information.
The company's press service provided a comment to “Economic Truth”.
“These satellite images were captured over a year ago and come from publicly accessible sources - we consciously do not publish the latest images from combat zones. We take such requests very seriously and maintain constant communication with Ukrainian officials,” Google representatives stated.
Recall that Google Maps has updated satellite images and published the locations of Ukrainian military systems and Defense Forces.
Last spring, Google declassified some satellite images of Ukraine. The new photos showed cities devastated by the full-scale Russian aggression.
