Currently, the most common source of information about events in Ukraine is Telegram channels, utilized by nearly half of the population. The telethon has become less popular over the past three years.
This information comes from a survey conducted by the sociological group "Rating".
Researchers found that Telegram channels are currently the information source for 47% of respondents. Following that is YouTube (26%), the Unified News Marathon (21%), eyewitness accounts/acquaintances (19%), and official state sources (19%).
Additionally, 89% of respondents consider misinformation to be a serious issue, with 56% deeming it very serious and 33% considering it rather serious.
Only 10% do not view the issue of misinformation and fake news as serious.
The survey was conducted from September 24 to 29, 2024, involving 2000 respondents across Ukraine (excluding the occupied territories of Crimea and Donbas).
It is worth noting that in 2022, Russian special services attempted to hack Ukrainian TV channels participating in the national telethon. Recently, the State Audit Office assessed the effectiveness of the "Unified News" telethon.
