The decision by U.S. President Donald Trump to suspend international aid to other countries for 90 days will not affect support for Ukraine.
This was stated by the Center for Counteracting Disinformation.
It is noted that prior to this, information circulated online suggesting that Trump’s order also applies to military aid for Ukraine. The CPD clarified that this information is not accurate.
"In fact, Trump's order pertains to international aid under 'Development Programs,' related to the activities of UN agencies, peacekeeping initiatives, refugee support programs, etc." – the statement reads.
At the same time, Ukraine continues to receive assistance from the U.S. through other programs – Presidential Drawdown (PDA), Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative (USAI), and Foreign Military Financing (FMF).
It should be recalled that the order to suspend international aid was signed by Trump on his first day in office. Over the next 90 days, the White House team plans to conduct reviews to ensure that the aid aligns with Trump’s policy objectives.
The new U.S. president also signed orders regarding the death penalty, as well as withdrawing the country from the Paris Climate Agreement and the World Health Organization.
It is worth noting that Trump did not mention Ukraine during his first address to Americans at the inauguration ceremony. The media has already identified two possible reasons for this.
