Республиканец Дональд Трамп принял присягу и официально стал 47-м президентом Соединенных Штатов Америки.

Republican Donald Trump took the oath of office and officially became the 47th president of the United States of America.

The ceremony was held in the rotunda of the U.S. Capitol.

"I solemnly swear that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States and will do my best to preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States," Trump stated during his oath.

Trump used the Bible of Abraham Lincoln – the 16th president used it during his oath ceremony in 1861.

Prior to this, Trump's Vice President JD Vance took the oath. Unlike the president, the requirement for the vice president to take an oath is not specified in the Constitution.

Attending the ceremony were former presidents Joe Biden, Barack Obama, George W. Bush, and Bill Clinton.

As a reminder, after taking the oath, Trump will move to the presidential office in the Senate, where he will traditionally sign the first documents. It has been reported that Trump plans to sign around 100 executive orders on his first day in office.

According to media reports, Trump raised a record $250 million in donations for his inauguration. The sponsor of Trump's inauguration was TikTok, which faces a potential ban in the U.S.
