It is known that Khan issued an arrest warrant for Russian dictator Vladimir Putin in March 2023.

Moreover, the current decision by the U.S. is linked to Khan's actions concerning the leadership of Israel, particularly Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Among other things, he insisted on issuing an arrest warrant for this politician.

The sanctions include freezing all assets of the ICC prosecutor within the U.S. territory, as well as visa restrictions for him and his family members.

It is worth noting that just a few days ago, President Donald Trump signed an order imposing economic and visa sanctions on individuals involved in investigations by the International Criminal Court concerning U.S. citizens or their allies, notably Israel.

In response, the ICC condemned the U.S. sanctions against its officials. The court emphasized that the order is aimed at undermining its independent and impartial work.
