The United States has decided to suspend the introduction of new tariffs on imported goods from Mexico.
This was announced on social media Truth Social by U.S. President Donald Trump following a conversation with Mexican leader Claudia Sheinbaum.

He mentioned that the tariff implementation has been suspended for one month. During this period, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and other administration officials will negotiate with high-ranking representatives from Mexico.
Sheinbaum, in turn, agreed to immediately send 10,000 military personnel to the Mexican-American border to curb the trafficking of fentanyl and illegal migrants into the U.S.
“I look forward to participating in these negotiations with President Sheinbaum as we seek to reach a 'deal' between our two countries,” Trump concluded.
It’s worth noting that previously, Trump signed orders to impose tariffs on imports from Canada, Mexico, and China. He also announced that the U.S. would soon impose tariffs on European goods.
In response, Canada has already imposed a 25% tariff on American goods. Meanwhile, the European Union has promised a "decisive response" if Trump imposes tariffs on European products.
