Russian actor and State Duma deputy Dmitry Pevtsov has been sentenced in absentia to ten years in prison for anti-Ukrainian propaganda. He openly supported Russia's invasion, called for the seizure of Ukraine, and denied war crimes.
This was reported by the SBU press service on Thursday, February 20.

The SBU reminded that Pevtsov is a deputy of the State Duma and is part of a circle of Kremlin-affiliated "public figures" who openly support Russia's full-scale invasion.
It has been documented that Pevtsov repeatedly spread anti-Ukrainian narratives during mass events involving Putin.
Moreover, the Russian frequently appeared on central Russian television channels, where he called for the seizure of state power and all of Ukraine's territory.
Additionally, in interviews with Russian propagandists, Pevtsov spoke about how he personally "voted for the annexation" of temporarily occupied areas of Ukraine to Russia.
Among other things, he denied the war crimes committed by Russians in the temporarily occupied territories of our state, particularly in Mariupol.
Based on the collected evidence, the court in absentia found Pevtsov guilty on three counts under the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The offender has been sentenced to 10 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property.
Recall that earlier Russian actor Mashkov was sentenced in absentia and his apartment in Odessa was confiscated. Prior to this, Mashkov received another suspicion from the SBU.
