The approval rating of U.S. President Donald Trump decreased following his first month in the White House. The majority of Americans believe that he is overstepping his authority and has not taken sufficient measures to address the issue of high prices.
This is reported by The Hill and Politico.

A CNN/SSRS poll shows that 47% of Americans trust Trump, while 52% do not. In the Washington Post/Ipsos survey, the trust and distrust levels for the U.S. President stand at 45% and 53%, respectively.
The Reuters/Ipsos poll indicated that Trump's approval rating, which is at 44%, is declining amid his decision to impose tariffs on key U.S. trading partners. Fifty-one percent of respondents disapprove of the President's performance.
According to Politico, one reason for the decline in support is the belief that Trump has overstepped his presidential powers in his attempts to restructure the federal government. His actions to fire federal employees and cancel federal contracts have not been popular.
Trump's close ally Elon Musk also received poor ratings: according to the Post survey, only 34% of citizens approve of his actions.
Americans are also skeptical about Trump's approach to addressing the issue of high prices. In a CNN poll, 62% of respondents (including 47% of Republicans) stated that the President has not done enough to attempt to lower prices on everyday goods.
The majority of Americans (69% according to the Washington Post) believe that tariffs on Canada, Mexico, and China will lead to higher prices for goods in the U.S.
It is worth noting that a previous poll showed that Americans do not approve of some of Trump's initial executive orders, particularly his attempt to eliminate birthright citizenship and rename the Gulf of Mexico.
Recently, Trump claimed that Vladimir Zelensky's support level is allegedly at 4%. The President responded that the information regarding his 4% rating comes from Russia and that Trump has fallen victim to misinformation.
