On Friday, January 10, Ukraine issued the first permits for the exhumation of the remains of the victims of the Volhynia tragedy to the Polish authorities.
This was reported by Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk on the social network X.
“Finally, a breakthrough. There is a decision on the first exhumations of Polish UPA victims,” the politician wrote.
Tusk expressed gratitude to the culture ministers of Poland and Ukraine for their cooperation and hoped for further similar decisions.
However, he did not specify when the exhumation process for the victims would actually begin.
Recall that in November, it became known that Ukraine and Poland agreed on the exhumation of the victims of the Volhynia tragedy.
Previously, the Polish Foreign Ministry stated that until Ukraine resolves the issue of exhuming the remains of the Volhynia tragedy victims, Kiev “should not dream of joining the EU.”
