The prosecution has recorded new instances of executions of Ukrainian soldiers captured by Russians in the Donetsk region.
This information was shared in a statement by the regional prosecutor's office via Telegram.
It is known that on October 23, the occupiers captured three Ukrainian servicemen near the city of Selydove. Shortly thereafter, the unarmed soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were shot.
On November 1, Russians attacked the positions of the Defense Forces in the same Pokrovsk direction. Three servicemen were taken prisoner, after which the enemies killed them with automatic weapons.
“Under the procedural guidance of the Donetsk regional prosecutor's office, pre-trial investigations have been initiated in criminal proceedings regarding the commission of war crimes that resulted in loss of life (part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine),” the prosecution stated.
As a reminder, in early October, the occupiers executed 16 Ukrainian warriors who surrendered in the Pokrovsk direction of the Donetsk region. The Office of the Prosecutor General clarified that this was the most significant case of the execution of Ukrainian POWs at the front line.
At the end of October, it was reported that in Selydove, Donetsk region, the occupiers shot local residents.
