A draft law on state regulation of the production and circulation of energy drinks has appeared on the website of the Verkhovna Rada.
The draft law No. 13024 was registered on February 17.

The document proposes a ban on the sale of energy drinks with high levels of stimulants to individuals under the age of 18, along with other restrictions regarding the sale procedures for these beverages.
Additionally, the production of energy drinks will prohibit the addition of ingredients (substances) that stimulate the central nervous system in quantities exceeding a specified maximum allowable level.
The authors of the initiative noted that due to their chemical composition (caffeine, taurine, guarana, B vitamins, plant derivatives, and other additives), energy drinks have the ability to stimulate the human central nervous system, providing a temporary feeling of alertness, improved mood, increased activity, and productivity.
However, these sensations occur as a result of mobilizing the body's reserves, and continuous consumption of these beverages can lead to the depletion of these reserves, subsequently causing increased fatigue, sleep disturbances, nervous disorders, and depression, as stated in the explanatory note.
