Ukrainian people's deputy Irina Kormyshkina has decided to resign amid a scandal involving possible illegal enrichment.

It became known from an announcement on the Verkhovna Rada's website that Kormyshkina has submitted the relevant statement.

The issue of her resignation will be addressed on Monday, February 24.

Kormyshkina has not yet commented on the situation, so the exact reason for her decision remains unclear.

It is worth noting that in October, the NABU and SAP reported suspicions against deputy Irina Kormyshkina regarding illegal enrichment. According to the investigation, between 2021 and 2022, she acquired assets that exceed her official income and savings by over 20 million UAH during that period. With the funds obtained as unjustified assets, she later purchased a building near Odesa, where she resides.

Additionally, it was reported that the NABU and SAB announced suspicions against the husband of the people's deputy, Yuriy Kormyshkin. He is suspected of legalizing property obtained through criminal means, as well as declaring false information.

Previously, it was reported that the Anti-Corruption Court did not allow deputy Kormyshkina to travel abroad.
