The Ministry of Defense is preparing an order for the dismissal of Lieutenant General Pavlo Tkachuk, the head of the National Academy of Land Forces named after Peter Sahaidachny in Lviv.
This was announced by the First Deputy Minister of Defense Ivan Havryliuk during a speech in parliament, as reported by Interfax-Ukraine. According to him, the corresponding decision has already been made.
“As for Tkachuk, the decision regarding him has already been taken. He will be dismissed in the shortest possible time,” said Havryliuk.
It is noteworthy that in March, MP Yuliia Yatsyk reported on a collective complaint from cadets of the National Academy of Land Forces against Tkachuk. According to her, members of the investigative commission conducted a number of anonymous interviews with cadets from different courses of the academy.
In the conversations, the cadets complained about the lack of necessary medicines in the medical unit, poor nutrition, and the requirement to contribute funds for paper, cleaning supplies, and other needs. They also stated that bullying is present within the institution.
Recall that in November of this year, former commander of the Joint Forces Yuriy Sodol resigned from the Armed Forces. Also, last month, Volodymyr Zelensky appointed a new commander of the Land Forces and announced other personnel changes in the Armed Forces.
