Силы обороны Украины могли захватить Курскую атомную электростанцию на территории рф, но не стали этого делать, сообщил Зеленский.

The Ukrainian Defense Forces could have seized the Kursk Nuclear Power Plant located in Russia, but chose not to do so.

This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelensky in an interview with representatives of the media from Northern European countries.

What is known about the Kursk NPP in Russian KurchatovThe infographic outlines what is known about the Kursk Nuclear Power Plant, which is situated in the Russian city of Kurchatov.

According to him, a theoretical capture of the Kursk NPP would mean that Ukraine had become just like Russia, which occupied the nuclear facility in Enerhodar.

“Russia thinks it is very strong. But if we wanted to seize their nuclear station, we would have done it. However, we never wanted this because we understand that it would mean becoming just like Russia,” the president stated.

He also reiterated that the Kursk operation was initiated to prevent the Russians from creating a “buffer zone” in the northeastern part of Ukraine.

Recall that in late August, the head of the IAEA, Rafael Grossi, visited the Kursk NPP. After the inspection, he reported on the risks of a nuclear accident at the facility.

It was previously reported that the Russians restricted entry to Kurchatov and tightened security measures at the Kursk NPP.
