Премьер-министр Канады Джастин Трюдо объявил о введении 25% пошлин на американские товары в ответ на решение Дональда Трампа о высоких тарифах на канадский импорт.

The Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau, announced the imposition of a 25% tariff on American goods in response to U.S. President Donald Trump's decision to implement high tariffs on Canadian imports.

Canada is preparing retaliatory tariffs on U.S. goods – BloombergCanada has compiled a list of American-made products worth $105 billion that it will impose tariffs on if Donald Trump decides to levy tariffs on Canadian goods.

"This evening, I announce that Canada will respond to U.S. actions by implementing a 25% tariff on American goods worth $155 billion," Trudeau stated at a press conference.

According to the Prime Minister, tariffs on goods valued at $30 billion will take effect on Tuesday, and after 21 days, Canada will impose additional tariffs to give companies time to adapt and find alternatives.

The new restrictions will affect a wide range of products, including alcohol, fruits, vegetables, clothing, and footwear.

Furthermore, Trudeau mentioned that Canada is considering additional measures unrelated to tariffs. Possible solutions include restrictions in critical minerals, energy resource procurement, and other economic steps.

"We will firmly protect Canada's interests. We will do everything to ensure that our countries remain the best neighbors in the world," emphasized Trudeau.

It should be noted that the day before, U.S. President Donald Trump signed orders to impose tariffs on imported goods from Canada, Mexico, and China.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau had previously stated that the country may face challenging times if Trump implements tariffs on imported goods.
