Вечером в понедельник, 4 ноября, в центре Тбилиси начался митинг грузинской оппозиции против результатов выборов в парламент страны.

On the evening of Monday, November 4, a new protest by the Georgian opposition against the parliamentary election results began in the center of Tbilisi.

This was reported by Echo of the Caucasus.

The demonstration is taking place near the parliament building, organized by the major parties that disagree with the election results – "Strong Georgia," "Coalition for Change," and "Unity-National Movement."

According to preliminary data, around 5,000 people attended the protest. Additionally, renowned eco-activist Greta Thunberg came to support the demonstrators.

During his speech, one of the opposition leaders, Georgy Vashadze, outlined the demands to the authorities and the key principles of the protest:

  • the opposition does not recognize the legitimacy of the parliament and demands new elections;

  • “resistance front” hubs will be established in Tbilisi and other major cities;

  • each subsequent protest will be “sharper and focused on more specific goals”;

  • the opposition will continue to gather evidence and prepare documentation for an international investigation, “so that all criminals are held accountable.”

Vashadze added that the protest will continue until final victory. It is also known that the protesters intend to block the Baratashvili Bridge in the center of Tbilisi, which may complicate traffic in the city.

It is worth noting that international observers reported serious violations during the voting in Georgia. Ukraine supports the conclusions of the international OSCE mission, with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs calling on the government not to follow the Belarusian path.

Meanwhile, the ruling party "Georgian Dream," which the Central Election Commission recognized as the winner of the recent elections, accused the opposition of "vote theft" and promised to report this to the prosecutor's office.
