The Ukrainian special operation forces, in collaboration with the Security Service of Ukraine, attacked the Volgograd Oil Refinery and the Astrakhan Gas Processing Plant in Russia last night. Both facilities sustained damage.

This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Monday, February 3.

"Units of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Security Service of Ukraine, in coordination with other components of the Defense Forces, struck the Volgograd Oil Refinery ('Lukoil-Volgogradneftepererabotka') and the Astrakhan Gas Processing Plant on the night of February 3, 2025," the report states.

According to preliminary data from the General Staff, the primary processing units at the plant in the Volgograd region were specifically damaged. A fire is ongoing at the Astrakhan Gas Processing Plant, and the facility's operations have been halted.

The results of the strike and the extent of the damage are being clarified.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine added that both of these strategic sites are significant producers of fuel for the Russian occupying army.

It is worth noting that earlier on social media, it was reported that the oil refinery in Volgograd, Russia, was attacked today, resulting in a fire. The Astrakhan Gas Processing Plant was also targeted.
