The former Deputy Minister of Social Policy of Ukraine has been notified of suspicion of official negligence for organizing an unjustified procurement worth 24 million UAH.
This was reported by the press service of the Office of the Prosecutor General on January 20.
“Under the procedural guidance of the Office of the Prosecutor General, the former Deputy Minister of Social Policy of Ukraine has been informed of suspicion of official negligence (Part 2 of Article 367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine),” the statement said.
The OGP does not disclose the name of the suspect, but according to media reports, it concerns Boris Lebedtsov.
According to the investigation, from February to May 2022, during the implementation of the project "Modernization of Social Support Systems in Ukraine," the suspect committed official negligence.
“He entered into an additional agreement to the main contract, which unjustifiably expanded the number of contract objects and increased the procurement of computer equipment that is not used by the ministry's employees. This was executed without a technical and economic justification for equipping the united territorial communities with computer equipment and without coordination with the Ministry of Digital Transformation,” the statement added.
As a result, the Ministry of Social Policy incurred damages totaling 24 million UAH, law enforcement officials reported.
The question of choosing a preventive measure for the suspect is currently being resolved.
We remind you that recently, NABU and SAP announced suspicion against the former state secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Additionally, NABU and SAP reported suspicion against MP Bondar.
