Ukraine will receive £1.6 billion (around $2 billion) from Britain to acquire more than 5,000 air defense missiles.

This was announced by British Prime Minister Keir Starmer following the conclusion of the European leaders' summit on Ukraine.

Starmer announced a new agreement that will allow Ukraine to utilize £1.6 billion in export financing to purchase an additional 5,000 air defense missiles. According to him, these will be produced by British manufacturers. This will create jobs in the country's defense sector.

This will be vital for protecting critical infrastructure now and strengthening Ukraine in securing peace when it comes, because we must learn from the mistakes of the past,” the Prime Minister emphasized.

It is worth noting that on Sunday, March 2, Starmer hosted more than a dozen European leaders in London, where they discussed the security guarantees the continent can offer Ukraine.

On March 1, Ukraine and Britain signed an emergency loan agreement for £2.26 billion (approximately $3 billion) for the procurement of defense equipment.
