The list of pardons includes brothers Francis Biden, James Biden, and the latter's wife, as well as sister Valerie Biden and her husband.

"My family has faced constant attacks and threats aimed solely at harming me – this is the worst example of partisan politics. Unfortunately, I have no reason to believe that these attacks will cease," Biden stated.

He added that the decision to pardon them should not be mistaken for an admission of any wrongdoing on their part.

It is worth noting that today Biden preemptively pardoned former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Mark Milley, Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases Anthony Fauci, and several officials who served on the government committee investigating the Capitol riot on January 6, 2021.

On December 1, Joe Biden announced a full and unconditional pardon for his son Hunter Biden, who was convicted for illegal possession of firearms and tax violations. The case against him has been closed.
