The fact is that Viktor Medvedchuk is unsuccessfully trying to reclaim 69.8 million rubles in advances from the Russian "Chornomorneftegaz" for drilling a gas well at the "Deep" field off the coast of occupied Crimea.

This became known thanks to a publication by the Telegram channel "All Moves Recorded," which often shares compromising material on well-known politicians, officials, and businessmen.

In 2021, Medvedchuk's company "New Projects" paid about $1 million to "Chornomorneftegaz," which was supposed to drill the well using seized Ukrainian drilling rigs, commonly known as "Boyko Towers" (named after Yuriy Boyko, who purchased them in 2011 at inflated prices while serving as Minister of Energy).
