In Ukraine, nearly 4,000 judges receive state pensions, costing taxpayers almost 5 billion hryvnias for the year 2024.

The average pension for a judge is 107,000 hryvnias per month. The amount of the payment depends on their salary and experience – some receive 50% of their salary, while others get as much as 90%.

This information is reported by "Sledstvo.Info".

Trend of growth:

  • 2022 – 4.1 billion UAH.
  • 2023 – 4.4 billion UAH.
  • 2024 – nearly 5 billion UAH.

The reason is that judges continue to retire. In 2024 alone, their number increased by 238 individuals.

Journalists have discovered that among the retired judges, there are many controversial figures – those who banned Maidan, violated laws, were involved in drunk driving incidents, or illegally privatized housing. Not all judges fit this description, but it seems that questionable personalities prefer to retire gracefully rather than remain under public scrutiny.

Judicial pensions continue to rise, and the government allocates billions for this purpose. However, not all judges receiving such payments can boast a spotless reputation.
