People's deputies Halyna Yanchhenko and Anastasia Radina, who worked at the Anti-Corruption Center under the leadership of Vitaliy Shabunin before being elected to parliament, voted in favor of bill No. 6013, which includes an amendment exempting suppliers from fines for not delivering weapons to the army on time.
This is evidenced by the data from the roll-call vote, reports "Law and Business." Although the Anti-Corruption Center urged the deputies not to vote for this proposal, calling it detrimental to the front.
“This is not the first time that anti-corruption activists have harshly criticized those they once supported and promoted to government positions, as well as treating personnel, recommendations, and legislation lightly. For instance, Shabunin previously actively promoted Defense Minister Rustem Umerov, who he is now equally critical of,” the publication notes.
The adopted law exempts defense suppliers from paying a 7% fine for delays in weapon deliveries to the front that exceed 30 days.
It is worth noting that Shabunin himself is evading military service: he was fictitiously listed as serving in the Territorial Defense Battalion, where he received a salary and "combat pay," while actually living in Kyiv. With the help of the leadership of the National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NAPC), he was allegedly seconded to an agency where he also did not appear.
There are several criminal cases being investigated by the State Bureau of Investigation (DBR) against Shabunin, including charges of evading mobilization, forgery of NAPC documents, illegal use of humanitarian aid, and misappropriation of a Nissan Pathfinder jeep.
