While Ukrainians are counting every penny, the daughter of fugitive MP Yaroslav Dubnevych is spending tens of millions on luxury real estate in Dubai. Ukrainian media have revealed that 33-year-old Roksolana Pirtko has purchased a lavish apartment spanning 145 square meters in the prestigious Forte Tower 2 skyscraper located in the heart of the metropolis. The price of this "modest" purchase exceeds 44.8 million hryvnias. And that’s not all.
Documents obtained by the international investigative journalism network OCCRP indicate that Roksolana became the owner of the apartment on November 23, 2022. This elite residence is situated in the Burj Khalifa district, where the cost per square meter is higher than what most Ukrainians earn in a year.
However, the apartment is not the only trace of the Dubnevych family's wealth in Dubai. In 2022, the fugitive MP's daughter established a company called Symbol Consulting DMCC, which received a local license for marketing and management services.
Additionally, in December 2023, Pirtko's luxury Dubai property was put up for rent for 2.62 million hryvnias per year.
Roksolana Pirtko seems unashamed to showcase her wealth. Besides her Dubai apartment and business in the UAE, she and her husband purchased an opulent house in Bratislava for 600,000 euros in September 2023. Furthermore, Roksolana remains a co-founder of several companies in Ukraine, including "Lvivstroymax-invest," the "Roksolana" shopping center, "Perezyvon," and "Lig Agro."
Roksolana's father is a member of parliament and is suspected of embezzling over 2.1 billion hryvnias. In October 2023, he fled Ukraine and was placed on an international wanted list. According to Europol, Dubnevych crossed the border into Hungary via Romania; however, his current whereabouts are unknown.
Despite numerous investigations, no concrete actions have been taken to return Dubnevych or confiscate his assets thus far. The former MP's family continues to live a life of luxury while Ukrainians are scraping together their last funds for utility payments and volunteer contributions to the army.
