While internally displaced persons lack the resources to meet their basic needs, forcing many to return to occupied territories, 109 members of the Verkhovna Rada received compensation for housing rental totaling nearly 1.9 million hryvnias in October 2024.

The average compensation amounted to 19,500 hryvnias per deputy. The largest payment was received by the deputy from "Servant of the People" Alexander Haiduk – 59,800 hryvnias. He rented accommodation from May to July.
In second place is Vladimir Moroz from the "Restoration of Ukraine" group, who received 20,800 hryvnias, while Maxim Pashkovsky, also from "Servant of the People," took third place with compensation of 20,150 hryvnias for rent from August to September.

Ukrainians may feel that such compensations for deputies are not the most priority expenses. Many who are suffering from the consequences of the war might expect that such funds would be directed towards helping those who truly need it, rather than covering the monthly housing rent for government representatives.
